Why Jesus Would Never Eat Pork — And Why You Shouldn't Either
Most Christians eat what Christ never touched — and call it grace
Want to know if your Christianity matches Christ’s?
Here’s the test: Would Jesus eat pork, shrimp, or catfish?
Spoiler: He wouldn’t. Not then. Not now. Not when He returns.
And the Bible proves it.
Yet millions of sincere Christians keep piling pork on their plates while quoting Paul and misreading Jesus — all while ignoring the very commands He inspired in Leviticus 11 and Deuteronomy 14.
This isn't a fringe issue. It's a test of obedience. And it's going to separate real followers from cultural Christians as the world descends into chaos.
Let’s dismantle the 7 most common objections and see what God actually says.
Objection 1: “Those laws were only for Israel.”
Really? Then why did Noah know the difference between clean and unclean animals long before Israel existed?
“You shall take with you seven each of every clean animal... two each of animals that are unclean.”
—Genesis 7:2
God revealed these distinctions before the Flood. The principle wasn’t cultural — it was creation-based.
Objection 2: “Jesus declared all foods clean.”
That’s a translator’s opinion, not Scripture.
In Mark 7:19, some modern Bibles insert the phrase “(Thus He declared all foods clean).” But that’s not found in the underlying Greek text. Jesus wasn’t abolishing God’s dietary laws. He was rebuking the Pharisees for handwashing traditions — not redefining pork as food.
Even Peter, years after Christ’s ascension, still said:
“I have never eaten anything common or unclean.”
—Acts 10:14
That’s a disciple who walked with Jesus for 3½ years.
Objection 3: “God told Peter to eat unclean animals.”
Nope. Peter refused — three times. And he later explained:
“God has shown me that I should not call any man common or unclean.”
—Acts 10:28
The vision wasn’t about food. It was about people. Twisting that passage to justify eating shrimp is spiritual malpractice.
Objection 4: “But Paul said all things are lawful.”
Taken out of context. Paul taught that food sacrificed to idols was morally neutral — but not to violate others’ conscience (see 1 Corinthians 8–10). He never gave license to eat what God forbade. In fact, Paul said:
“Do we then make void the law through faith? Certainly not! On the contrary, we establish the law.”
—Romans 3:31
Objection 5: “We’re under grace, not law.”
True — but grace isn’t a license to disobey.
“Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? Certainly not!”
—Romans 6:1-2
God’s definition of sin hasn’t changed:
“Sin is the transgression of the law.”
—1 John 3:4
Rejecting God’s food laws is not grace. It’s rebellion dressed in religion.
Objection 6: “Health isn’t the point. It’s a spiritual issue.”
Actually, it’s both. God never gave arbitrary rules.
Modern science confirms what Scripture declared 3,000 years ago:
Pork is high in inflammatory compounds and frequently contains residual toxins and pathogens. A 2023 study in Frontiers in Public Health linked processed pork consumption to higher colorectal cancer risk.
Shellfish are bottom-feeders that accumulate mercury, PCBs, and other toxins. Environmental Science & Technology Letters (2022) found shellfish among the highest carriers of microplastics in human diets.
Catfish, often raised in polluted waters, show elevated levels of heavy metals and pesticides, according to Toxics Journal (2024).
God knew. He designed our bodies. And He still calls these meats unclean.
Objection 7: “That was Old Testament. We’re in the New Covenant now.”
Yes. But guess what?
The Bible says the unclean distinction still matters — even in the end times:
“A people who eat swine’s flesh... are an abomination in My sight.”
—Isaiah 65:4
“Those who sanctify themselves... eating swine’s flesh and the abomination... shall be consumed.”
—Isaiah 66:17
“Babylon... has become a dwelling place of demons, a prison for every unclean spirit, and a cage for every unclean and hateful bird.”
—Revelation 18:2
From Genesis to Revelation, God never redefined unclean meat as food.
The Bigger Picture: A Kingdom Test
The issue isn’t just diet. It’s allegiance.
When Christ returns for His Bride and to establish His Kingdom soon after, He won’t be hosting shrimp cocktail at the marriage supper of the Lamb. He will rule by God’s law (Isaiah 2:3; Micah 4:2) — including the food laws He gave for our good.
So here’s the real question:
Will you follow popular religion — or the real Jesus, whose true Name is Yahshua?
