Why Every Ceasefire Crumbles Until He Comes

Ukraine’s Peace Talks and the Biblical Truth That Still Holds the World Together

Another ceasefire proposal. Another headline. Another hope crushed.

Yesterday, May 12, Ukraine and its European allies — with U.S. backing — offered Russia a 30-day unconditional ceasefire. A last-ditch attempt to open peace talks.

Moscow ignored it.

Instead, Russia escalated its drone attacks and offered direct negotiations — without stopping the bombing. Kyiv agreed in principle, but demanded the missiles stop first.

New sanctions threatened Russia’s economy. Trust crumbled.

So did the chance for peace.

But this isn’t new. It never works. Summits. Ceasefires. Handshakes. Then — smoke, sirens, and death. We repeat the cycle, expecting peace from systems built to fail.

Here’s the hard reality: Peace doesn’t fail because we lack strategy. It fails because we lack transformation.

The War We Never Talk About

The world fights for peace on the battlefield, but the real war rages in the human heart. It’s not just borders, pipelines, or presidents.

It’s about us.

“The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?”
—Jeremiah 17:9

Pride. Fear. Hatred. Sin. These are the wounds no treaty can heal. Diplomats can pause the bombs — but they can’t fix what’s broken inside.

“They have healed the wound of My people slightly, saying, ‘Peace, peace!’ when there is no peace.”
—Jeremiah 6:14

Every ceasefire is a bandage on a bullet wound — temporary, fragile, destined to bleed again.

The Kingdom That Ends Every War

Christ didn’t just come to save souls. He came preaching the gospel of the Kingdom of God (Mark 1:14–15) — a real government that will bring real peace.

Not through compromise, but through justice.
Not through politics, but through righteous rule.
Not through treaties, but through transformation.

When Christ returns, He won’t broker peace deals. He won’t shake hands with tyrants.

He will rule.

“Of the increase of His government and peace there shall be no end… with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever.” —Isaiah 9:7

This is the peace the world craves — and the one it keeps rejecting.

What You Must Do Until Then

If you’re tired of watching history repeat itself, stop putting your hope in human plans. Stop chasing peace through politics.

Repent. Turn to God.

“Seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness…” —Matthew 6:33

That’s not a feel-good phrase. It’s the only path to real peace.

The Ukraine ceasefire is just the latest flicker of false hope. More will come. More will crumble. Because until Christ — the true Peacemaker — returns…

Every ceasefire is just a temporary bandage on a wound only He can heal.

But His Kingdom is coming. And when it does — war ends.

Get ready.
